• A jump in Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports to China and India rose to reach 23% in 6 months

    Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports to China and India jumped by 23 per cent in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.

    The total non-oil exports to the two countries were amounted to 20.20 billion riyals, an increase of 3.79 billion riyals, compared to about 16.41 billion riyals for the same period of 2017.

    According to an analysis of the unit of reports in Al-Eqtisadiah, based on the data of the General Organization for Statistics, both China and India accounted for 18.11 per cent of the total non-oil exports of Saudi Arabia during the first half of this year, while they constituted about 18 per cent during the same period last year.

     

    Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports to China were amounted to about 14.25 billion riyals, while India's share was about 5.94 billion riyals.

    The rise in non-oil exports to the two countries is due to the strong growth of exports to China, which rose in the first half of this year by about 36 percent, which increased by 3.76 billion riyals, while exports to India increased by 30.3 million riyals.

     

    Saudi non-oil exports consist of domestic or national commodities: (All goods produced or manufactured locally or in which industrial processes were carried out) as well as exports of foreign goods known as re-exports.

    Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports to China and India during the second quarter of this year were amounted to about 8.13 billion riyals, of which 5.44 billion riyals to China and 2.69 billion to India.

    China and India are among the top five countries exporting non-oil products to Saudi Arabia, as well as the UAE and Singapore.

     

    Saudi non-oil exports in the first half of this year was amounted to 111.54 billion riyals, according to preliminary data.

    Saudi non-oil exports in the first quarter of 2018 reached 56.18 billion riyals, compared with 45.51 billion riyals for the same period last year. While exports for the second quarter of this year were about 55.36 billion riyals, compared to 45.35 billion riyals for the same period last year.
